Unlike goods, services can’t be stored.

상품과 달리, 서비스는 저장될 수 없다. 

 

 

Instead, their production and consumption occurs simultaneously.

대신, 그것(서비스)의 생산과 소비는 동시에 발생한다. 

 

 

Firms that provide servlces must maintain enough capacity to meet peak demand periods or they wilI face a physical backlog of customers.

서비스를 제공하는 회사들은 최대 수요 기간을 충족시킬 충분한 능력을 유지해야 하고, 그렇지 않으면 그들은 물리적으로 처리하지 못한 고객들의 업무에 직면하게 될 것이다. 

 

In the case of air travel, if you fly during peak periods, you will join a queue of fellow passengers waiting in line to check their luggage.

항공 여행의 경우, 만약 여러분이 성수기 중에 비행기를 탄다면, 여러분은 자신의 수하물을 부치려고 줄 서서 기다리고 있는 동승자들의 행렬에 합류하게 될 것이다.

미처리 업무를 줄이기 위해 대부분의 서비스 전달 체계는 예약과 약속을 사용한다. 

 

Services are time perishable.

서비스는 ‘시간에 의해 소멸하기 쉽다’. 

 

An empty seat at a theater or an empty hotel room will never be available again for that particular play or for that specific night, which demonstrates why services cannot be inventoried and stored for later use.

극장의 비어 있는 좌석 또는 비어 있는 호텔 객실은 바로 그 연극이나 그 특정한 밤을 위해서는 절대 다시 사용 가능하지 않을 것이고, 이는 왜 서비스가 나중에 사용하기 위해 목록에 기입되어 저장될 수 없는지 보여 준다. 

 

Services cannot be transferred or reused but must be sold directly to a customer.

서비스는 이동되거나 재사용될 수 없고 고객에게 즉시 판매되어야 한다.
