Diane made a communication mistake that instantly persuaded her fellow teacher Martha to resent her.

Diane은 그녀의 동료교사 Martha가 그녀에게 즉시 화를 내도록 만든 의사소통상의 실수를 했다. 

 

What was Diane’s mistake?

Diane의 실수는 무엇이었을까? 

 

 

Diane disagreed with Martha and didn’t even give her a chance to explain her idea before rejecting it.

Diane은 Martha의 생각에 동의하지 않았고 그것을 거부하기 전에 그녀에게 아이디어를 설명할 기회조차 주지 않았다. 

 

Diane wasn’t interested in looking at the newspaper article and she did not ask Martha to explain her reasons for advocating a new science program.

Diane은 신문 기사를 보는 데 흥미가 없었고, 그녀는 Martha에게 새로운 과학 프로그램을 옹호하는 그녀의 이유를 설명해달라는 요청도 하지 않았다. 

 

By rejecting Martha’s opinion without giving it any consideration, Diane sent Martha the message that she didn’t respect her or value her ideas.

전혀 고려하지 않고 Martha의 의견을 거부함으로써, Diane은 Martha에게 그녀가 그녀를 존중하지 않고 그녀의 아이디어를 가치 있게 여기지도 않는다는 메시지를 전달했다. 

 

Diane’s instant negativity discouraged her from sharing ideas in the future that could benefit the students, the science department and the school.

Diane의 즉각적인 부정적 태도는 장차 학생, 과학과, 그리고 학교에 도움이 될 수 있는 아이디어를 공유하려는 그녀의 의욕을 꺾었다. 

 

Diane’s habit of quickly dismissing opposing views weakened her authority and limited progress in the science department.

반대 의견을 빠르게 묵살해버리는 Diane의 습관은 그녀의 권위를 약화시켰고 과학과의 발전을 제한했다.
