★ 중요어법

 

Mastering one topic means very little in the sense that an infinite amount of new topics remain alive and waiting to be tackled.

 

in the sense that의 that은 동격의 that입니다.

해석은 '~라는 점에서' 로 합니다.

in the sense that은 줄여서 in that으로 더 많이 쓴다는 점도 알아두면 좋습니다.

We all have been blessed with intellect.

 

우리는 모두 지성이라는 축복을 부여 받았다. 

 

It is up to us to develop what we have been given.

 

우리에게 주어진 것을 계발하는 것은 우리에게 달려있다.

진정한 지식인은 자신이 알고 있는 것에 흡족해 하지 않는데, 왜냐하면 아무도 모든 것을 알 수 있는 능력이 없고, 바보만이 그렇지 않은 척하기 때문이다.

대신 인생과 마찬가지로 그것은 잠재력과 위험으로 가득 찬, 끊임없는 마라톤일 뿐이다.

지성은 (부여받았음을) 축하해야 할 것이 아니라, 끊임없이 그리고 겸허하게 향상 되어야 할 것이다.
